Pacific Scientific :: SC900 Digital Servo Drives

Powerful, Functional, Modular Connectivity

Available in four power levels, all with integral power supplies and shunt regulators, these fully digital brushless servo drives provide transformerless, direct 120/240V ac line operation. These high performance drives use a single DSP (Digital Signal Processor) to close the current, velocity and position loops to provide smooth, high performance servo control. A single rugged resolver feedback reduces wiring to one feedback device for commutation, velocity and position information. All system and application parameters are set digitally to insure repeatability and to eliminate drift. The combination of DSP, DRDC (our Digital Resolver-to-Digital Conversion) and ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) provides the digital advantage to reduce component count, increase reliability and flexibility, eliminate analog drift and imprecise pot adjustments, while reducing overall size.

A modular design increases functionality and the open architecture ensures that your investment can be upgraded as additional functional enhancements become available. The foundation for this series is a base drive which, in itself, has an impressive list of features and functions. For example, a variety of analog and digital command interfaces are available. The base drive accepts various option cards that provide increased application-specific functionality. Option cards provide three separate functions: a RS232/485 serial interface, a SERCOS multi-axis fiber optic interface and a programmable single axis controller. Connectivity through option cards provides the foundation for future upgrade paths. Three option cards are available.

An autotuning feature automatically sets the servo system set-up parameters to the type of performance desired. Use just a personal computer to set-up your system, no scopes, meters or other instruments are required.
