Model 6410 is an economical, compact stepper drive that converts step and direction inputs into winding currents for two-phase stepper motors. The 6410 can operate with a single power supply. Output voltage is equal to the of the power supply. Output current is adjustable for 0.625 to 5A rms. The default output current is 5A rms.
Its compact size of 1.5 x 5 x 4.3 in. requires only 7.5 square inches of panel space!

Features

Benefits

Patented bipolar chopper drive - four-phase PWM (pulse width modulation) chopping electronically controls the motor winding currents at 20 kHz
Combines the best of recirculating and nonrecirculating current regulation to provide high back EMF rejection with low ripple current and reduced audible and electrical noise
Digital Electronic Damping
Damps oscillations in mid-range speed bands common with stepper systems to develop full torque at all motor speeds
Idle Current Reduction Feature
Permits an automatic 50% reduction in motor winding current during motor idle conditions to minimize heating during dwell periods
Output Current Adjustment
Maximizes application flexibility - output current adjustable from 0.625 to 5.0 amps rms
