Cut-to-Length/Index Control
The M-Cut controller is a configurable, microprocessor-based digital controller. The M-Cut provides control for incremental feed and cut-to-length applications such as direct point-to-point, registration reference and shuttle carriage operations. Point-to-point applications move from a predefined (home) origin point, through a S-curve velocity profile, directly to a destination point. Registration reference point applications determine the final destination point by the occurrence of a registration mark. Typical installations include sheeters, press feeders, shuttle transfer mechanisms, or one-axis indexers.
- Isolated Analog Interface to any AC or DC Drive.
- Pre-Programmed... no code to write.
- Operator Interface for Setup & Monitoring.
- Cut-to-Length or Index Destination.
- Scaled in convenient Engineering Units.
- Reacts to Register Marks if they are present.
- Incremental and Absolute positioning.
The M-Cut control is housed in a 1Ž2 DIN vertical instrument enclosure with embedded operator interface. The integrated display and keypad panel gains access to numerous control and monitor parameters. Individual application requirements are met by simply accessing the relevant code parameter and then entering the appropriate numerical value. Because the M-Cut control is pre-programmed, applications can be commissioned in a matter of minutes once the control has been installed. A full compliment of monitor parameters are available to verify operation and assist with diagnostics.
The M-Cut control has a serial port for RS422/485 communication. ContrexHost software, when loaded on a Windows® PC or laptop, allows you to initiate commands, change parameters, load/save setup values, and monitor more than 50 values on one or up to 32 channels of M-Series controllers.
Features:
- Three in-position outputs with adjustable delay/dwell.
- Incremental move or absolute position control.
- Performs combinational entry checking on parameters.
- Unique programming features include entry for kerf adjustment, back-step length or Home offset.
- Reads quadrature encoders to monitor line speed and direction.
